Over the course of this year the staff has worked feverishly to discover new artists and expose the viewers to music which would perhaps otherwise remain covered in the shadows of obscurity. Furthermore, a lot of people have become overwhelmed with the myriad of genres that are showcased here, and have a very difficult time determining where to start here.

In answering these users' requests, the Blak's Lair Family spent several hours combing through all the featured blog postings in hopes of creating a solid compilation among the the staff members' favorite songs from all the albums released and featured here in 2008. Through their tireless dedication and deliberation, the staff emerged victorious with this compilation of some of the best underground and international grooves of 2008.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Blak's Lair Family proudly presents their first exclusive digital compilation as a collective, Blak Gold 2008. Neophytes and veterans of this blog are welcome to join the Family as they take the listener through 3-1/2 hours of hella dope tracks from some of the finest artists and musicians in the world!

Between Blak Gold 2008, Blak Heat and The Joaquino Soulections (RIP); one should be able to get a really good feel for the type of music that is featured here and have a much better understanding of why the staff members loathe mainstream urban radio today. Be warned, for once you take a really good listen to these songs, you won't want to bother with the AMA's or the Grammys anymore. Remember, you've been warned...
