The Clinton Administration consists of some of today’s brightest stars in the world of jam bands. This loose contingent of highly talented players has gotten to together for the second time to record some of the greatest songs from the catalog of Sly and The Family Stone. Stanton Moore (Galactic), Charlie Hitchcock (Particle), Robert Walter, Chuck Prada and Cochemea Gastelum from 20th Congress; and Eric Levy, Fareed Haque and Kai Eckhardt from Garaj Mahal all join guitar great, Michael Lee Firkins, to put new life into some of Sly’s best material. The songs are familiar but the grooves are new. The Clinton Administration has the talent to make the arrangements fresh and the soul to make you remember how special these songs are.


The last one was cool, but this one blows out the doors !!

This CD is the Bomb! The band's cover of P-Funk is awesome and gives one the feeling of a P-Funk Live Concert albeit in the studio. If you have ever seen or heard the "Live" version of MotherShip Connection (Star-Child) you will understand. The arrangements of the songs are played almost true to the original production release except with a twist or additional slice of improv as if it were live. I have heard other's remake P-Funk cuts into a Jazzy rendition (including George Duke/Stanley Clarke, Karl Denson, etc), however this is the best and "Un-Cut" effort to date. You cannot get on the Mother Ship without this CD!

This ain't nothin' but a party, y'all. It's not the Mothership, but maybe the next best thing.
